Left the place without arguing since I'm basically unwilling to waste my energy talking to an effectively stupid cs rep. Called the cs phone line and complained about their cs rep and again checking whether e61 with blackberry connect is supported by XL. And the "nice" cs rep on the phone said they do, but she suggest I go to the XL Center in Menara Rajawali since they have more knowledge and support there.
All that hoopla made me think, should I replace my beloved e61 with a blackberry phone instead? My basic requirements, beside the fact that I need blackberry support, are 3G capable, qwery thumb-board, and WiFi. Nice to have are gps and camera.
After researching blackberry hardware I found out that blackberry/rim doesn't have any offerings that fit all 3 basic requirement. Either they have 3G and thumb-board, or WiFi and thumb-board which is pretty pathetic.
So no blackberry phone for me at the moment. I think I'm satisfied with e61 and blackberry connect, thank you very much. Now if I can find the time to go XL Center again.
BTW, wrote this posting using my e61 via email. Guess I can still live with regular IMAP and SMTP service from Gmail.
Still yearn for a true push email though :)
